Romans 8:18 New International Version (NIV)
18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
As Christians, we must live in this but have hope for a better future with Christ despite current suffering. We must remind ourselves that like Jesus we must focus on the glory set before us.

Philip. 2:12-13 “Work out your own soul salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God that operates in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Phillip. 2:12-13. Salvation is a free give from God to those who trust Jesus Christ. But after we receive the gift we must work with God and allow Him to work out in our lives what pleases HIm.
