Safe and Healthy Communities Coalition to battle vaccine hesitancy

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — The city of Charleston has announced its commitment to the newly formed Safe and Healthy Communities Coalition.

Organizations from across the state are joining forces to fight vaccine hesitancy.

Charleston Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin held a news conference Monday detailing the plan, which includes amplifying vaccination and COVID testing efforts across the state.

Monday’s launch included a mobile public health education unit, which is a 24-foot sound truck used to promote vaccine clinics and testing sites around the state.
